In 1977, Mr. Wayne Edwards Sr. and Mr. Dana Pickup added together their collective experience and expertise in the home remodeling business to form Care Free Homes Company. It was a natural collaborative due to their long association with the well respected Tilo Corparation, a leader in the home improvement industry since the 1930's. They brought their work ethic as well as desire to develop a professionalism, previously not seen, to the home remodeling industry.
Initially, Care Free Homes Company concentrated on exterior remodeling, including roofing, natural wood and vinyl siding, windows, doors, and carpentry projects. The company quickly grew in focus and trade to include home additions, kitchen remodeling, custom and semi-custom new homes, and commercial roofing. One of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Cape Cod's largest employers of skilled and reliable craftsmen, Care Free Homes Company now employs over 50 talented craftsmen. This group includes many family members and several employees with over 15 years of service. Today Mr. Edwards' sons, Wayne Jr. and Michael, have joined Mr. Pickup's sons, Nathan and Russell, in continuing the operation of the company.
Planned Growth Yields Better Service
Care Free Homes Company began operations from a small home office in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. Over the years, we've expanded to a large business property that includes a showroom, staff offices and equipment storage facilities. We anticipate that our newly remodeled facility will be able to serve as our base of operations for many years to come. Still located in Fairhaven, our central location allows us to easily service Southeastern New England.
